The Black Valley is situated between the Lakes of Killarney and the MacGillycuddy's Reeks, nestled between the towns of Killarney and Kenmare in County Kerry, Ireland.

Thank you for supporting our horse racing night - to see photos of the night, click here.

We are delighted to welcome you to the Black Valley, one of the most beautiful and unspoilt places in the world.

On the following pages we would like to show you what a day trip or a week's stay will offer you - the attractions, the walking, the boat trips, the pony trap rides and our famous hospitality - we can offer a range of accommodation and meals from the most basic to the most luxurious.

So what can the Black Valley offer you?
It is a haven for red deer, sika deer, hares, foxes, otters and badgers  and for birdlife, herons, cormorants, snipes,  woodcocks, and if you are lucky, the rare chough. Sit on a rock and watch a pair of hawks sweeping and soaring overhead. Slake one's thirst in a pure mountain spring cascading. Walk for hours on well-marked paths through rugged scenery with precipitous cliffs and overhanging boulders.

Relax and enjoy a few hours ride on a horse-drawn trap through the spectacular Gap of Dunloe into the Black Valley, then down to Lord Brandon's Cottage for refreshments before your boat trip across the Killarney lakes to Ross Castle.

We hope that by the end of your trip you will understand a bit about the unique way of life and history of the Black Valley and its people.

Every rock and gully, stream and mountain, has its own stories and secrets, some of which we will never know.... and yet, on a mid-summer's starry night, if you listen carefully, you can almost hear the gentle breeze whispering some of these secrets to you.
